Roseanne Barr has revealed that her character will be killed off … wait for it … by an overdose of opioids when “The Conners” — the continuation of her hit sitcom — debuts this fall.

As most of America well knows, Roseanne Barr was fired from “Roseanne,” the relaunch of her popular ’90s sitcom, only hours after she tweeted that former President Barack Obama’s aide Valerie Jarrett looked like a cross between the “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes.”

The tweet quickly drew criticism and condemnation from nearly everyone, and people accused Barr of racism for the message.

Barr later apologized, appearing to partly blame the sleep aid Ambien for the tweet.

Eventually, it was decided that the hugely popular sitcom would continue for another season, but that it would be renamed “The Conners” and would not include Roseanne at all.

Barr, as part of making amends, signed away creative and financial rights to her own show.

A pill addiction storyline for the Roseanne character had started the previous season was apparently Barr’s idea, but she obviously was not expecting it to result in the character’s death for this new program.

In more unfortunate news for Barr, she was one of the first to be insulted at Monday night’s Emmy Awards ceremony.

“Congratulations to Laurie Metcalf. You know how great an actress you have to be to be nominated for ‘Roseanne’ now? That’s like a cop being nominated for a BET Award,” co-host Michael Che said at the awards show.

Roseanne Barr has become too easy a target for Hollywood liberals.

Because she’s a Trump supporter, she appears to be fair game.

Just as many jokes could presumably be aimed at former “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn, who similarly lost his job with Disney due to controversial tweets; but this has not happened.

Gunn’s jokes made light of pedophilia, and he was dropped from “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” despite objections from the cast of the film.
