It seems like ages ago that Eminem was passionately rapping about being a struggling artist and father in Detroit.
Today, he appears more interested in sharing his views on hot-button political issues — and in slamming President Donald Trump and those who support him.
In a recent interview with hip-hop radio DJ Sway Calloway, Eminem slammed critics of original anthem kneeler Colin Kaepernick and other protesters like him in the NFL.
“It’s infuriating. Infuriating. Like, really?” the rapper said when he was asked about boycotts against Nike for making Kaepernick the center of its new ad campaign.
“Nike supports people who kneel for the anthem. At this f***ing point, come on — seriously? Seriously? You gotta be a f***ing moron to think that’s just what it’s about and it’s that f***ing cut and dry.”
He added, “You know what I’m saying? Like, there’s a meaning behind this s*** and there’s real pain behind this s***.”
The Grammy-winning musician continued, “And you’re burning a f***ing pair of shoes? When you go about your f***ing day and you got your job and you’re thinking of all this other s***, that’s what really f***ing bothers you?”
Eminem, 45, said it was Trump’s original criticism of the national anthem kneelers in the football league that inspired him to get more political.
“I was just watching it every single day. I watch a lot of news. The thing that p***ed me off the most, and when I started going crazy with the pen was the Kaepernick thing and when that s*** happened and how [Trump] kept changing the narrative,” he said.
Eminem responded with a rap that aired during last year’s BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards.
The rapper told his fans they needed to choose between him and the president.
“And any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his, I’m drawing in the sand a line, you’re either for or against, and if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for it for you with this. F*** you,” he said.
Eminem’s latest album, “Kamikaze,” keeps his political streak going. He takes plenty of shots at Trump and his administration.
He even calls the president an “evil serpent.”

Eminem’s evolution is rather startling for anyone who was ever a fan of the musician.
He always had something to say — but now he appears to be just another anti-Trump troll who repeats generic lines he likely hears on CNN and MSNBC.

Eminem and MGK are in a feud and Colin Kaepernick is the face of Nike. I haven't seen so many stressed out white people since Sears closed.

Within a week we’ve had Eminem drop an album, MGK dropping a diss track, Nike/Kaepernick & Mac Miller’s death. All were major headlines
This is exactly why people cannot focus on serious issues. We’re being bombarded with everything else but what’s REALLY going on in this world

Nike’s target demographic is the least likely to have voted for Trump, and most likely to support Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter movement. https://t.co/U2dkWcxhCd
