Hundreds of people showed up to attend the “Rescue America” rally in Beverly Hills on Saturday afternoon. This pro-Trump march was put together by the #WalkAway Foundation, which is a campaign that “encourages and supports those on the Left to walk away from the divisive tenets endorsed and mandated by the Democratic Party of today.”

The pro-Trump demonstrators were seen carrying “Make America Great Again” signs and American flags as they marched to Beverly Gardens Park. Many encouraged Californians to ditch the Democratic Party by holding “#WalkAway” signs.

“We’re doing these rallies because we wanted to show the radical left who’s been smashing windows, committing acts of violence, committing acts of vandalism they do not own America’s streets,” Brandon Starka, the founder of #WalkAway, said on the day of the event. “We’re going to fight for the heart and soul of America, so this is our third one. Next week we’ll be in Milwaukee and we’ll basically be doing ‘Rescue America’ rallies around the country for now through the end of the year.”

One of the speakers at the event was the singer Joy Villa, who made headlines back in 2017 when she wore a pro-Trump dress that said “Make America Great Again” to the Grammy Awards. Other famous names in attendance included actors Scott Baio and Lorenzo Lamas.

The Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed that the protest was peaceful, with no arrests being made. A few liberal counter-protesters were spotted at the rally, with some being from Black Lives Matter. One of these protesters made the mistake of approaching conservative political commentator Shemeka Michelle, who immediately taught him a lesson that he won’t soon forget.

“We’re a movement of people who are walking away from the Democratic party,” Starka explained. “We’re walking away from the ideology of liberalism, the liberal media…basically, we want to live in a country with peace and civility…truthfulness, kindness and again, we’re not getting that from the political left so we’re walking away from the Democrats.”
