Kamala Harris, America’s political shape-shifter, has yet again flipped her stance on immigration in a bid to drum up last-minute support.

Known for her shifting positions on key issues, Harris recently unveiled her latest policy reversal during a speech in Washington, where she promised to deport illegal immigrants—a position far removed from her previous pro-open-borders stance, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Standing on the Ellipse, Harris aimed her critique squarely at Donald Trump, announcing her commitment to deporting individuals who cross the border illegally and bolstering border security—a surprising claim considering her well-documented support for sanctuary policies.

As she took the stage, Harris declared, “Politicians have got to stop treating immigration as an issue to scare up votes in an election and instead treat it as the serious challenge that it is.”

With sweeping promises, she pledged to “remove those who arrive here unlawfully” and support Border Patrol efforts—conveniently leaving out her past advocacy for policies that would do precisely the opposite.

For years, Harris has championed softer immigration stances, often aligning with policies that undermine traditional immigration law.

Not long ago, she openly supported sanctuary cities, criticized attempts to criminalize illegal border crossings, and even entertained the idea of dismantling ICE. In fact, during the first debate, Harris’s immigration record was brought under scrutiny by Trump’s campaign, exposing her inconsistent statements.

Consider Harris’s prior statements:

She once claimed she didn’t support decriminalizing illegal border crossings. Yet, footage shows Harris publicly raising her hand in favor, even declaring, “We’re not going to treat people who are undocumented [who] cross the borders as criminals.”

Harris has previously dismissed illegal immigration as a “non-emergency” and has outright stated, “An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.”

The list of contradictions doesn’t end there. Harris backed sanctuary laws, mass amnesty proposals, and taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants—policies that are in stark contrast to her current, tough-on-border-crime rhetoric.

Let’s not forget her controversial statements on ICE, even going so far as to compare the agency to the KKK and suggesting it be “started from scratch.” This latest pivot on immigration, just before a crucial election, reeks of political convenience rather than genuine policy conviction.

In a reality where Harris is touted as the Biden administration’s “border czar,” her track record shows limited engagement with actual border security. Despite unprecedented levels of illegal crossings under this administration, Harris has visited the border only once, and even then, chose a carefully curated location far from the actual crisis zones.

It appears Harris’s newest approach is yet another chapter in her tale of political expediency—this time at the expense of her previous “open borders” allies. As she chases votes with a reimagined stance on immigration, her track record tells a very different story.
