Joe Rogan, the influential podcast host of The Joe Rogan Experience, recently revealed that his endorsement of President-elect Donald Trump received surprising private support from members of the entertainment industry.

As reported by Fox News, Rogan’s public backing came just before Trump’s decisive victory in both the Electoral College and the popular vote, and it appears to have resonated beyond traditional conservative circles.

Former President Donald Trump is interviewed by U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 at Macomb Community College in Warren.

During a post-election discussion, Rogan disclosed the backlash he faced for criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris and offering his endorsement of Trump. He highlighted the fear many individuals in liberal-leaning industries feel when expressing conservative views.

“A lot of what people say, they say it because they don’t want people to attack them. They say it because they think that if they say it, it will clear them, they’ll be OK. If you say you support ‘x’ — you might not even support ‘x’ — but if you say you support ‘x,’ you’re not going to get attacked and the right people will leave you alone or agree with you and appreciate you or praise you,” Rogan said.

Rogan went on to detail the messages of gratitude he received from artists, musicians, and comedians. These creative professionals, many of whom align with traditionally liberal movements, expressed relief that Rogan voiced support for Trump on their behalf.

“They said they want to but they don’t want to be attacked,” he shared. “They think the country’s going in the wrong direction.”

Rogan’s endorsement came on the eve of the election, bolstered by his interview with Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X (formerly Twitter) and a vocal Trump supporter. Musk warned that a Harris presidency could lead to governmental overreach in social media, a concern Rogan echoed.

He argued that the dominance of a single political ideology in media sets a dangerous precedent, regardless of the ideology’s leanings.

Reflecting on global trends, Rogan criticized what he described as government control of speech, citing instances in the UK where individuals faced legal consequences for social media posts. “It’s f**king crazy. The whole thing is nuts,” he stated.

Rogan praised Trump’s commitment to free speech, emphasizing the need to curb government influence over public discourse.

The role of Rogan’s podcast and similar platforms in shaping public opinion, particularly among young men across racial demographics, has been a hot topic since the election. Commentators argue that podcasts have emerged as a powerful medium for breaking through mainstream media narratives.

As Trump prepares to assume office, Rogan’s vocal support underscores a growing cultural shift where alternative media voices challenge traditional establishments. For now, Rogan’s endorsement remains a standout example of how unconventional platforms and personalities can influence the political landscape.
