Ryan Routh, the man accused of a failed attempt on Donald Trump’s life earlier this year, has stirred up fresh controversy with a bizarre jailhouse letter, as reported by The New York Post.

Addressed to Politico journalist Ankush Khardori, the four-page rant dives into his disdain for America’s two-party system and connections to another would-be Trump assassin, Thomas Crooks.

Routh, 58, is being held at a Miami federal detention center as he awaits trial for allegedly targeting Trump at his Florida golf course. In his letter, Routh repeatedly refers to himself as the “Alleged Trump shooter” and takes aim at the Republican and Democratic parties.

While distancing himself from the Democratic Party, he unleashes venom on Trump, calling him a “dictator” and accusing him of dismantling American democracy.

Routh’s tirade doesn’t stop there. He links himself to Crooks, who was killed by Secret Service agents in July after a sniper attack left Trump with a minor injury during a campaign speech in Pennsylvania. We were both “ready to die for freedom and democracy,” Routh wrote, casting Crooks in the same ideological light.

In a chilling warning, Routh demanded a radical restructuring of presidential power, claiming the U.S. military should be controlled by Congress if Trump assumes office. Routh alleged, “We must limit all Presidential power before Trump seizes our country.”

But Routh wasn’t only focused on Trump. He outlined a hypothetical scenario in which Kamala Harris won the presidency, calling on citizens to “surround the Capitol” to prevent another January 6-style event, even suggesting the risk of a civil war.

In his ramblings about the two-party system, Routh lamented its exclusionary nature, saying it forced the U.S. into choosing “flawed candidates.” He went on to gripe about failed attempts at building alternative parties like the Libertarians or the Green Party.

In a foreign policy tirade, Routh accused Trump of “destroying the MidEast” by pulling out of the Iran Nuclear Deal. He went further, blaming him for countless lives lost in the region, all while demanding sweeping international diplomacy. “Israel must stop their attacks,” Routh wrote, calling for peace talks with leaders from Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.

Authorities allege Routh’s actions matched his words. On September 15, he camped in a sniper’s nest for 12 hours outside Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club.

Secret Service agents, however, spotted the rifle muzzle in the bushes and opened fire, forcing him to flee before being swiftly apprehended.

Prosecutors also revealed that Routh had written a letter months prior to the incident, admitting he planned to kill Trump.
