Higgins, known for his outspoken criticism of Wray’s handling of the January 6, 2021, Capitol protests, accused the FBI chief of oppressing American citizens and promised accountability.

Taking to social media, Higgins delivered a pointed message to Wray during the holiday season.

“Mr. Wray, Remain close to DC. Your presence will be commanded. Repeatedly. In this Holiest of seasons, as you box up your mementos of oppression, may visions of the thousands of American J6 families you’ve destroyed dance through your head. Merry Christmas. Higgins out.”

Rep. Higgins has a history of challenging Wray over the FBI’s alleged role in the events of January 6.

In November 2022, Higgins confronted Wray during a congressional hearing, raising questions about the use of confidential human sources dressed as Trump supporters inside the Capitol during the protests.

Higgins pushed Wray for answers about the FBI’s involvement in the events, suggesting the agency played a role in organizing and infiltrating the protests.

Wray declined to provide specific details, citing ongoing investigations and the protection of confidential sources.

The following year, in November 2023, Higgins again pressed Wray about the FBI’s use of confidential human sources during the January 6 protests.

This time, Higgins presented a photo showing government assets boarding buses at Union Station before the rally, further questioning the FBI’s actions and transparency.

Higgins’ criticism of Wray reflects broader concerns among conservatives about the FBI’s handling of January 6 and its perceived politicization.

Many have accused the bureau of unfairly targeting Trump supporters while failing to hold others accountable for similar or more severe actions.

Higgins’ recent comments highlight his commitment to seeking answers and holding Wray accountable for the FBI’s actions.

“The hunters have become the hunted,” Higgins said, referencing his belief that justice will soon prevail for those he says were unfairly targeted by the bureau.

Higgins’ remarks come at a time of heightened scrutiny for the FBI, with allegations of bias and political motivations continuing to dominate discussions about the agency.

Critics argue that the bureau has been used to target political opponents and suppress dissenting voices, undermining public trust in federal law enforcement.

As Congress prepares for potential hearings and investigations in the new legislative session, Wray is likely to face increased scrutiny from lawmakers like Higgins, who are determined to uncover the full extent of the FBI’s involvement in the January 6 protests and other controversial actions.
