It was only a matter of time before the leftist media launched a smear campaign against Dan Bongino, President Trump’s newly appointed FBI Deputy Director.
Despite his rock-solid law enforcement background, CNN’s panelists wasted no time trying to discredit him. But conservative commentator Scott Jennings wasn’t having it, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Bongino, a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent, has spent decades serving the country. His experience spans from protecting U.S. presidents to becoming a top conservative voice in media.

But instead of acknowledging his credentials, CNN panelists, desperate to attack Trump’s administration, attempted to diminish his qualifications.
During a heated discussion, Scott Jennings confronted the absurdity head-on.
Scott Jennings didn’t hold back when CNN’s Tara Setmayer took aim at Bongino’s qualifications.
“If I may address one issue. You just denigrated Bongino’s law enforcement credentials. He was a cop and Secret Service agent. You denigrated his academic credentials. He has a Master’s degree.”

Setmayer scoffed, arguing that simply being a police officer doesn’t qualify someone to oversee a massive federal agency.
“Just because he was a police officer doesn’t make him qualified to run a 38,000-person, $11 billion budget agency… just like Pete Hegseth.”
Jennings fired back, reminding everyone that Bongino serves at the pleasure of the president, a standard practice for political appointments. But Setmayer, unable to accept reality, doubled down.
“I’ll never be over it! This is dismantling our democracy in front of our eyes, and you guys are OK with it.”
Fellow panelist Joe Borelli wasted no time exposing the left’s hypocrisy.
He pointed out that Democrats had no issue supporting unqualified Biden appointees, such as Pete Buttigieg—who failed miserably as Secretary of Transportation—or Sam Brinton, the infamous luggage thief and non-binary activist Biden placed in the Department of Energy.
Host Abby Philip attempted to regain control, pressing Jennings with a loaded question:
“Does Dan Bongino have the qualifications to be the second person in charge of the FBI?”
Jennings didn’t flinch.
“Yes! He has law enforcement, he has academic— and again, let me just stress this—I’ve mentioned this before… they serve at the pleasure of the president. That’s the political appointment.”
Philip, parroting the predictable CNN script, snarked:
“I know that’s the answer to every question—Donald Trump wants it, so therefore it is good…”
Jennings delivered the knockout punch:
“For political appointments? Yes.”
Interesting moment of election denialism on @cnn tonight. “I’ll never be over it, Scott.” https://t.co/xEkj5EjjzE

President Trump announced Bongino’s new role on Truth Social, celebrating the appointment:
“Great news for American law enforcement and Justice! Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our country, has just been named the next Deputy Director of the FBI, by the man who will be the best Director ever, Kash Patel.”
Bongino, known for his no-nonsense approach, was visibly moved by the announcement. Holding back tears, he expressed his gratitude:
“President Trump, AG Bondi, and FBI Director Patel offered this role. I’m going to accept the role proudly. I love you guys.”
With this appointment, Trump is once again proving that he values experience, integrity, and patriotism over political games. And the media? They’re just mad they can’t stop him.
