A super PAC founded by Elon Musk, America PAC, is offering $100 to registered voters in Wisconsin who sign a petition opposing “activist judges.”

Elon Musk Called This Financial News 'Terrifying'

This latest move from Musk’s political action committee aims to boost awareness, increase voter registration, and collect data on likely conservative voters ahead of the state’s upcoming Supreme Court election on April 1.

Similar to a controversial initiative Musk launched during the 2024 presidential election to support President Donald Trump, the financial incentive in Wisconsin is designed to rally conservative voters around Judge Brad Schimel, who is backed by Musk’s PAC.

Voters are encouraged to sign a petition stating their opposition to activist judges, with Musk offering the $100 cash reward to those who sign and refer their friends and family members to do the same.

The petition reads: “Judges should interpret laws as written, not rewrite them to fit their personal or political agendas. By signing below, I’m rejecting the actions of activist judges who impose their own views and demanding a judiciary that respects its role — interpreting, not legislating.”

America PAC’s efforts in Wisconsin aim to energize conservative voters, especially as Schimel faces a tough race against liberal Judge Susan Crawford.

Musk’s involvement in the race has brought significant attention due to his personal stakes in the state.

In addition to using financial incentives to encourage voter participation, Musk’s PAC has already invested $13 million in the race, making it the most expensive state Supreme Court election in U.S. history, with more than $59 million spent on both sides of the contest.

This electoral battle is significant because of a case involving Musk’s company, Tesla.

In January, Tesla filed a lawsuit against Wisconsin, challenging a state law that prevents manufacturers from owning dealerships.

Tesla sought to turn its galleries in Madison and Milwaukee into dealerships and open additional ones in Glendale and the Fox Cities.

Wisconsin denied Tesla’s request for dealer licenses, arguing the company did not meet the necessary requirements for exemptions to state law.

Tesla believes that if it were allowed to operate dealerships in Wisconsin, it could boost electric vehicle sales, which currently range between 3,000 and 4,000 units annually.

A hearing on the case is scheduled for Monday, where Tesla will request a venue change.

If the case is not settled at the circuit court level, it could eventually make its way to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, where Musk’s PAC has heavily invested in ensuring a favorable ruling.

The situation has created tension in the state, with Musk’s critics accusing him of attempting to “buy” a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court to secure a ruling in his favor.

Crawford’s campaign has seized on Musk’s involvement, with spokesperson Derrick Honeyman calling Musk’s efforts a form of “extreme corruption.”

He also criticized Schimel, stating, “Brad Schimel has spent his career looking out for wealthy special interests and campaign donors, and Musk wants a justice who will rule in his favor to help his own bottom line.”

Meanwhile…

In response, Musk has used his platform to rally support, particularly urging Republicans to vote for Brad Schimel in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

Just days after Tesla’s dealer license request was denied, Musk posted on X, telling his 219 million followers, “Very important to vote Republican for the Wisconsin Supreme Court to prevent voting fraud.”

This has created a difficult dynamic for Schimel, who benefits from Musk’s financial backing and social media influence.

Meanwhile, Crawford’s campaign has gone on the offensive, running ads that accuse Musk of trying to buy Schimel a seat on the state’s highest court.

With the election just days away, the battle over who will control the Wisconsin Supreme Court remains intense, and Musk’s financial support continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the outcome.

As the race heats up, questions about the influence of money in politics and the role of wealthy donors in judicial elections are sure to remain in the spotlight.
