What if I were to tell you that every single United States President, except one, are all related to each other?
This is what was revealed on a Special Episode of Secret America, called “It’s All Connected”.
Forget Republican versus Democrat. Forget conservative versus liberal. Follow the bloodline and you’ll find that nearly every American president ends up connected to the same ancestor:
King John “Lackland” of England.

From George Washington to Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama to Donald Trump. All have the same blood running through their veins.
The one famous exception?
Martin Van Buren.
The connection was uncovered in a genealogy project by BridgeAnne d’Avignon, who traced presidential ancestry through both paternal and maternal family lines. Her research concluded that 42 of the 43 presidents she examined could be traced back to King John, who ruled England more than 800 years ago.

Even presidents portrayed as political opposites turn out to be distant relatives. Donald Trump and Barack Obama, for example, have been identified in genealogical research as distant cousins through shared ancestry.
And they’re far from the only ones.
The deeper you travel into presidential genealogy, the more connections appear.
Think about what we’re supposed to believe.
America was founded by overthrowing a monarchy. We rejected kings, royal families and inherited rule. Americans would choose their leaders.
Yet generation after generation, the people reaching America’s highest office keep appearing somewhere inside the same ancestral network, with the genealogy leading back to an actual King of England.
We’re supposed to believe that’s just coincidence?
ONE CHANCE IN 96 QUINTILLION?
The calculation that Secret America showed live on their show, about this presidential bloodline, puts the odds of virtually every president sharing this ancestry and reaching the presidency purely by chance at:
1 in 96,000,000,000,000,000,000.
That’s one chance in 96 quintillion.
It’s an eye-popping number. For comparison, there are 100 billion stars in our Milky Way Galaxy. That means the odds that were calculated in relation to the Presidents’ are about 960 MILLION times the number of stars.

And maybe that’s exactly why the genealogy itself deserves attention.
We’re repeatedly told not to look too closely at connections involving powerful people.
It’s coincidence.
It’s meaningless.
Everyone is probably related if you go back far enough.
Move along.
But when nearly every person to occupy the most powerful office on Earth can be traced into the same family tree, perhaps “coincidence” isn’t the end of the conversation.
Perhaps it’s the beginning.

WHY MARTIN VAN BUREN?
Then there’s Martin Van Buren.
If everyone were connected, skeptics could simply dismiss the entire thing by saying everyone eventually shares ancestors.
But according to the famous presidential genealogy, one president didn’t.
Van Buren.
Why? How did he become President if no one else outside the bloodline could?
In 1837, Martin Van Buren ran as the Democratic candidate for President. The newly formed Whig party (Republican party did not exist yet), ran 6 regional candidates rather than a national one.
That is why he won. However, the bloodline would never allow it again. He was ousted after his first term, and it’s been the same bloodline since him as it was before him.
So out of this remarkable pattern spanning more than two centuries, one man stands outside it.
Everyone else examined?
Connected.
BLOODLINES DON’T CARE ABOUT POLITICAL PARTIES
Maybe that’s the biggest lesson.
Americans spend enormous amounts of energy fighting over Republican versus Democrat.
But blood doesn’t have a political party.
Obama and Trump can be political opposites and still be distant relatives.
Presidents separated by centuries can still share ancestors.
Families that appear unrelated today can converge when their histories are traced backward.
The faces change.
The parties change.
The campaign slogans change.
But the family tree keeps going.
And eventually, nearly every presidential branch arrives at the same place:
King John Lackland.
Secret America exposing this on their episode “It’s All Connected,” has made everyone wonder if this is the biggest conspiracy in world history.

Perhaps we’ve spent too much time looking at America’s presidents individually.
Put them all on the same family tree and suddenly the picture looks very different.
One king.
Nearly every president.
Hundreds of years of history.
And one extraordinary exception.
Martin Van Buren.
You can call it coincidence.
You can call it statistical inevitability.
But when the same bloodlines keep appearing at the highest levels of power, there’s another possibility worth considering:
Maybe it was never as random as we were told.

Most likely, 80-90% of the legal population in the U.S. are related to each other. If you could go back far enough, everyoneis related. Must have been a slow news day.
Agree completely. This ridiculous article should never have appeared here at lifezette. Of COURSE Americans’ bloodlines go back to England. The odds AGAINST that happening would also be impossibly high. If there was something they all did in common, a case could’ve been made. If they all voted the same way on some issue, and the author had pointed out what it was, I could begin to see the beginnings of a dark plan. They didn’t. They never have. They all might contain a tiny percentage of one man’s blood, but other than that, had little to nothing in common. Their views were as varied as America is. Is Danger actually claiming that because of a common ancestor, Barak Hussein Obama and Ronald Reagan were ideological soulmates? That the two were part of some dark plot? He never gave us ONE shred of evidence to prove his wild claim. NOTHING. Someone should tell him that all Americans are related to the first man and woman on earth, and that proves we are all involved in some dirty scheme. The editor really fell down here today by greenlighting this hot mess. Shame on you, lifezette.
SeenItAll, I think you might be missing the meaning of this article. EVERY President, except one notable exception, is related to ONE ancestor that lived 800 years ago. One blood line flowing through American history. It’s NOT by chance which is what the article proves. Your flippant response shows you didn’t really think this through or understand the context of the article.
Since there was not ONE piece of evidence proving that any of this made one ounce of difference in their positions, YOU are the one who didn’t really think this through. Yes, it sounds very conspiracy. No, it didn’t/doesn’t make one bit of difference.
It’s not that they are somehow related, it’s that they are related to the same person, King John Lackland. That’s the amazing thing. If you believe like I do that all humanity is related, it is no big deal. What makes it impossible except by interference is it goes back to one man. When he, king John was alive there were roughly 400,000,000 people on earth. They didn’t trace back to any of them but JUST King John.
This is stupid. If you go back far enough, of course you’re going to find a common ancestor for any subset of people. I just checked my family tree and I am also related to King John.
This is just one of many bloodline connections. Show us the rest, then talk about it.
This happened in 2010… Why rehash it 16 yrs later?
So what? Whether or not it is true, who gives a tinker’s dam? All that matters are values and character, which even direct siblings don’t always share. This is silly.
Operative term: “silly”.
EXACTLY. Now, where do I apply to get my five minutes back?
Pure malarky. Adam was my second cousin and Eve was my niece. This is just some spinster trying to make a name….just boring stupidity.
In other news, everyone is related to Adam and Eve, and Noah and his wife
Thank you. The defense rests.
Direct bloodlines are historically known to have been at war with each other, attempting to end the other’s future lineage.
Being related has never been an indicator of always following the same path.
You just wrote the definitive, devastating response to this nonsensical claim. Your last sentence was pure gold. The author’s premise was hilarious. Thanks, Tim!
A tad over 2% of the worlds population are decedents of Genghis Khan
Good catch, Forrest. But you forgot to tell us that it proves there is going to be a Mongol uprising or something. ;)
Actually J.R. Church and Gary Stearman “Prophecy in the News” published this about U.S. Presidents over 2 decades ago. As I recall it goes all the way back to Mary Tudor 14 generations ago.
And it made just about as much sense two decades ago. As in….ZERO.
I can tell you from what my brother said that this is part B.S. What’s he know? Only 53 years of personal research and publishing more than 30 books on genealogy of our family and ALL of the presidents.
How were VanBuren’s main policy and theoretically, different ideas and policies, “different”, than other’s?
THAT is the overall point we, who are criticizing this nonsensical claim, are making. The author didn’t even TRY to show how that fact affected any presidential positions back then, or the price of cheese today. Maybe that’s because there ARE no differences. Thanks, Randy.
It may be true if you go back to Adam and ever. But if you get real there are no records for hundreds if not thousands of years. The article is pure nonsense.
But there are some that should be looked at more closely and questioned. Not to be racist, but Obama father was not born in the US. I believe his mother supposedly was so she would have to be traced back to King John.
And that is only ONE of the glaring omissions in this fantasy piece. What a shame, a crime, and a sin that a respected site like Lifezette would have an editor who would greenlight nonsense like this.
Let’s give credit where credit is due. This information about the Presidents being related was done by a junior high school student from Paso Robles, California as a school project about 10 to 15 years ago.
